A contract of considerable size both managed and commissioned by GSL over the period of a year. A project consisting of six floors with various air conditioning plant. Each floor being partially occupied resulting in a staged commissioning exercise involving VAV boxes, Fan Coil Units, chilled water systems, heating systems and various supply and extract air systems.




Responsibility for the commissioning of these exclusive national health clubs is held by GSL. The air conditioning plant in the clubs is varied according to the different zones such as swimming pools, gyms and changing areas. These projects have been found to be interesting to commission due to their diverse nature, in particular the Hendon club that occupies a converted theatre.




Involvement in this large scale project required working in an organised manner in liaison with numerous other contractors in order to satisfy very tight deadlines.




Validation works performed prior to system modifications being carried out. Full commissioning works undertaken after systems had been modified. Adherence to hygiene control regulations in certain areas was a necessity as was the need for special care to be taken in occupied areas.




The entire main plant was upgraded and re-commissioned to a higher specification. Due to the nature of the restaurant business and its late opening hours, all works needed to be performed out of normal daytime working hours.
